Some years back I bought and read a book called The Claude Glass by Tom Bollough. A brilliant book set in the Black Mountains in Wales. Later I met Tom when he was staying at Druidstone. He had just signed a contract for Konstantin. It had gone to auction. He was knackered, I think that is the best word to use, but happy also, with a tiny baby and a book contract.
I contacted him to tell hm about Jane dying. She loved artists and writers and had great respect for Tom, and Sort of Books, who had published The Claude Glass ( and also publish Tove Jannson’s Summer Book and Kathleen Jamie’s Findings). Then I sent him Can You See a Little Bear for his little one. Every child should have one!
So, in the post today, this beautiful book arrived, along with a postcard that pulls you up short if you stop to really read it. Beautiful design, can’t wait to read it.
Tom has another claim to fame. You can find that in the depths of his website.

downloaded it to my Kindle as it sounds exactly the kind of reading I like.
The poem is beautiful.

I translated it from Dari… one of my favorites…

Thank you. Such wonderful words. Very strong, about silence. Glad to have met you, here and in those words.
