A Book is for Life, Not Just for Christmas.

This is just a quick note to say that Solva Woollen Mill’s website is back up and running with an all new look. You can buy all of my books that are in print, signed, from the mill site and they will post out to anywhere in the world. You can also add a dedication if you want to. Great for Christmas presents.

And while you are on their site do have a look around. The shop is full of beautiful things including wonderful flat weave rugs woven on site.

Better still go to the mill for a visit.

Meanwhile there are signed books in Dulverton at Number Seven, which is also full of gorgeous things, and at The Edge of the World Bookshop in Penzance, one of the best indies I have visited this year (fantastic window of mermaids).

And remember, a book is for life, not just for Christmas.

About Jackie

I am an artist and writer. I live in a small house by the sea in Wales where I write, paint, walk and watch and dream of bears and whales. I love to read, have a wish for wings and prefer the company of animals to that of humans, though at times I can be quite friendly. I am learning how to work with wood engraving tools and hoping to show that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

  1. While books are indeed not just for Christmas, I can’t think of a better gift. To give and to receive.

I would say that ‘Because books aren’t just for Christmas I can’t think of a better gift.’ A well chosen book, for either adult or a child is, perhaps, the best thing a person can give or receive.

I visited Solva Mill at the end of October – a really beautiful setting for a remarkable place. Yes, we brought books and postcards and a rug!
