I was asked to write an article for Books for Keeps. Here is a link to the piece. It looks better if you download the magazine version and read from there.

Lovely to see you as illustrator of the month with Lovereading4kids as well. Am off to order my copy of the book from Jane Streeter at Lowdham Books, our nearest independent.
I am never so happy about those kind of things as publishers pay to be included in them. I never knew this until recently and thought it just went on merit, which it does to some extent. What happens is that books are submitted and if they are chosen for a particular slot then the publisher pays. Julia Eccleshare, a woman who I have great respect for because of her massive knowledge of children’s books, doesn’t comment on everything though so it is wonderful for me that she has done a review of the book. http://www.lovereading4kids.co.uk/book/8440/East-of-the-Sun-West-of-the-Moon-by-Jackie-Morris.html
That is such a shame. I thought this was one of the few places that the book was what mattered, not how much the publisher paid. However it is good to see you there and I am really looking forward to getting a copy.
I think it is. I think they have a passion for books, and the book isn’t chosen by how much the publisher will pay. The money bit only comes after a book has been picked out and their reputation rides on picking out great reads. I suppose the money goes some way to keeping them in business. That and selling the books.
