About Jackie

I am an artist and writer. I live in a small house by the sea in Wales where I write, paint, walk and watch and dream of bears and whales. I love to read, have a wish for wings and prefer the company of animals to that of humans, though at times I can be quite friendly. I am learning how to work with wood engraving tools and hoping to show that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

    Oh, wow! I’m just speechless!

In a good way I hope. I have made a good many book covers before, but there is something about the whole package of this book that makes it just something really beautiful. Which it is. The story is wonderful. Characters who are more than ink and paper. Living, breathing friends, and their continuing story. And Harper Collins have done you proud.

  2. Ludy says:

So pretty. I want this instead of the US cover.

  3. Chrys says:

Wow!! Love the cover! Why doesn’t the U.S. version have the pretty cover? Is this a hard back?

  4. Eliane says:

Wow, this sooo beautiful !! I was wondering which edition I would buy, and then saw the US version and thought “I hope UK edition is better than that”. Then I saw this and stared at it, completly speechless. And now, I know which edition I’ll buy ! I love simple book covers, and this one is exactly that, in such a pretty way. A french friend of mine even said she would read it in english just to be able to have this edition in her hands !
