…Catherine was working, on Little Evie in the Darkwoods.

“In the clearing, in the middle of the great wild wood, the wolf and the child shared the tarts, so warm in the evening sun, so sweet.
Little Evie stroked the wolf’s velvet ears, leant against her side, listened to her breathing. Around them the wildwood held its breath, waiting.”

About Jackie
I am an artist and writer. I live in a small house by the sea in Wales where I write, paint, walk and watch and dream of bears and whales. I love to read, have a wish for wings and prefer the company of animals to that of humans, though at times I can be quite friendly. I am learning how to work with wood engraving tools and hoping to show that you can teach an old dog new tricks.

These are awesome. I am officially jealous.
It is a lovely experience, having your words illustrated by Catherine isn’t it! Even if she is having a bit of trouble with some tarts.
