This is great Jackie! I often write little phrases on my typewriter and always have it ready on the desk for inspiration. It’s lovely that you have one with such a personal history. Typewriters are the new black.
Wonderful that this machine has a new home with you where it will be loved and respected. Whatever you write with it will have special meaning.
…..this touches a chord that vibrates my own past. I discarded (delivered to a thrift) my own Dad’s 1950′s typewriter over a decade ago, having carried it for many previous decades, and written countless letters, stories and missives upon it. In the rush to “clear” the clutter, since I was then using an electric, and now the computer exclusively, I let it go. I wish I hadn’t.
