"From that day, his nets were always full. The sea people guided shoals of sparkling fish to his boat while Huw played tunes on his fiddle to say thank-you"

Huw's life is full of music, whether he is playing it, or listening to the melodies of the waves and the wind and the piping oystercatchers.

  • Compose a thank-you tune full of the sounds of silvery fish and rolling waves and the call of seabirds, of the wind through the gorse and the heather and the laughter of children across the fields.

Across the sea in their new country Huw would go down to the edge of the sea and play his fiddle in the hope that the waves would carry the music across the ocean to his wife and son in Wales. On peaceful days, if you make your careful way down to the place where the cliffs meet the water, if you are still and peaceful, you can hear the sound of distant fiddle music carried on the waves.
