Missing things.

Walking. Watching ravens fly. Five ravens in a cloud built sky. Dark, beautiful wind dancers flipping in flight and calling. I am nothing to them, of no use, insignificant. But to me they are everything.

Sunlight on land, cloud reflecting sea, wind wrinkled, slate coloured. Walking. Thinking. And I wonder why there has not been time for this and I realise that there are always 24 hours on the day and it all comes down to how we chose to spend them.

highland cow in PembrokeshireI miss my camera. I want my sketchbook to be like that. Something I feel lost without.

I love your wordcraft, really beautiful writing that gives me just as much imagery as if you’d had your camera afterall, but more so!
Also makes me realise that I can’t remember when I last walked out in the wind, pressed in as I am between work and winter’s early dark, but I have a day off today and the sun is bright, so I might bundle up the kids and get out after all…
I was painting Ravens last week, though in watercolour not words, so I did enjoy reading this today 🙂 If you wanted to peek I put them here: http://wordhoards.blogspot.com/2011/12/huginn-and-muninn-on-wings-of-storm.html
Hope your camera, van and computer all get fixed soon! 🙂
