At some point I will do a partner post to this called Where I Have Been and What I Did There. But for now I just need to flag up some events so that people don’t miss them if they wish to come. Thanks so much to Seven Fables for the launch at Simonsbath. They went above and beyond the call of duty and thanks to Littledart distribution we actually had books at our booklaunch. More on this later. Also huge thanks to Tinsmiths in Ledbury ( again thanks to Littledart for arranging for Tamsin to collect books for Tinsmiths and then sending extra. You have been brilliant) And thanks to Yasmin at Old Chapel Gallery for lovely day with Cathy Fisher and Summer Puppy. Yasmin now has loads of signed books.
So: first,a list of events for Wild Folk. More may come, but we are rather fond of our tour poster.
The first event now is at Mr B’s Bookshop in Bath. In the daytime Tamsin will be painting the window at the shop. Although she works in glass this is a first for her. So, probably by the evening she will be exhausted and I will be doing all the talking, but we will see!
Only a very few tickets left now for Mr B’s, so be swift if you want to come.

Also, The Lost Spells exhibition opens in Victoria Art Gallery 18 July. This is in Bath, Somerset.
Also, on 18th July I have an event with Nia Harries in Rhos Y Gilwen. Tickets are selling fast and this is such a contemplative and peaceful tonic of a performance. Please do come and join us and book via their website to avoid disappointment. Tickets cost £10. Copies of The Unwinding will be for sale, and Unwinding postcards and I am happy to sign books after the show.

Here’s a link to the Stone Club event in London.
Here is a link to the FarmEd event with Jaffe and Neale.

Meanwhile in St Andrews The Lost Words is on exhibition, from 21st July and later this year, in September, I will be travelling up to work in the gallery.
I would like to take a moment here to thank all the bookshops who are doing so much to support Wild Folk. I know some of you have been conflicted about the book because of the behaviour of the publisher. Tamsin and I chose to press ahead with publication so that the subscribers who put their faith in us ( to the tune of £80k) would not be left empty handed. And to be fair to Boundless they did print, and ship and fullfil pledges. Some chaos is now ensuing as shops are struggling to get stock, but I thank you all for your persistence, because the response from readers who manage to get their hands on it is amazing. And the creativity of booksellers is beautiful. So, from Tamsin and myself, huge thank you.
I need at some point soon to do a post about The Black Fox
So, send us your pictures of Wild Folk in bookshops, in gardens, on bookshelves, in wild places and we will start a gallery here, below. You can email me, or tag on instagram etc. And please share this posting, as word of mouth is the best way to sell books and we are having to work extra hard on this one. Leave us a comment below, to let us know if you have found the book, where and how it makes you feel.

Hi Jackie, I think that your work is lovely and I’m looking forward to seeing more of it at the Victoria Art Gallery in Bath soon, what I have only just realised is that I own a piece from your early days= namely the old Hat and Feather pub sign! it’s been decorating my workshop for over 20 years now, reminding me of the good old days in Bath, just thought that I’d let you know in case you ever wondered what happened to it, it was rescued by a friend of mine and given to me around the millenium I think. I just saw an old photo in Bath Chron which identifies you as the artist, so I had to get in touch to express my appreciation! ( I don’t do social media)
Have sent you an email!!!!! Excited to see the sign some time.
Bought the beautiful Wild Folk at Mr B’s and voraciously consumed over half of it in one sitting but now trying to eek it out to prolong the enjoyment.
Was in Bath this weekend from Sussex and so disappointing to miss the event but best of luck tomorrow hope it goes well.
So looking forward to the Stone Club and have just booked for your live painting at Victoria Art Gallery.
A huge thank you for all your art that gives so many of us so much pleasure
Hello Jackie, I live on Pender Island, BC, Canada and it would be wonderful if you could visit our island as well as Victoria and Vancouver! We have a special bookstore here plus it’s the home of Heather Read whose company helps to distribute your work [ and she is Welsh! ]. I by reference know Neil Pearson and I connect with him about music. I work with musicians in various contexts over here [ am the AD of a small but mighty festival called The Crisp here ] including some UK artists [ I am English but left after studying in Sheffield when I was 21 to teach in Canada, met my future partner and here I am! ]. I have tried to reach out to Anansi Press here but no luck.
We would LOVE you to come!! Last time in the UK I bought copies of The Lost Words for myself and family. Spell Songs is a dear favourite. Anyway, I am not at all sure if you will actually read this but just hopeful you will give me a contact to explore this further!! Looking forward to Birds!!
