Wish

Posted on November 18, 2011

Sometimes I wish I was made of paper and words so that I could live the exciting life of a book. But would I have to wait for someone to choose me and read me to breathe life into me. And if they fell in love with me while they were reading me how would it then feel if they closed my covers as the last word finished and then moved on, to another book; or handed me to a friend so they too could share? Be careful what you wish for, but tell me quietly, what would be yours?

Oh what a wonderful thought, to live the exciting life of a book, but I wouldn’t like to be passed on either 😉

My wish is to fly; to fly like a bird. To be able to spread my arms and fly through the forest and glide up and over the tallest trees, down into the valley feeling the wind on my face. To fly above rivers and follow them as they wind their way out to sea, and up and over the waves as they crash to shore. To share the wonder and excitement of our world with the birds.

To cast away all the fetters and constraints that demand and command me, and ride on a wild wind to wilderness heights, glory in the unbounded skies and grin with the savage joy of a wild thing…
